Gloryosky doesn’t normally post promotional material for shows, but I’ve been looking forward to iZombie since its initial January 2014 announcement. Below, in a promotional piece for The CW, iZombie developers/executive producers Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright talk about what to expect with the show.
iZombie is based on Chris Roberson and Mike Allred’s Vertigo comic series of the same name. Rob Thomas is best known as the creator of UPN/The CW’s Veronica Mars and co-creator of Starz’s Party Down (with John Enbom, Dan Etheridge and Paul Rudd). Thomas also co-developed The CW’s 90210 revival with Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah.
Whether iZombie is a good fit with The Flash (2014) is a different story, as the last show based on a Vertigo comic series was the ever-lovin’ Constantine, which had a…it had a run on NBC. Hopefully, iZombie maintains at least some of The Flash’s audience. When Mark Hamill returns for his third go-round as The Trickster (his second go-round was on Justice League Unlimited in 2006, for those with bilateral symmetry), iZombie indirectly benefits from that hype.
In the United States, iZombie debuts March 17, 2015 on The CW at 9:00 PM ET/PT, following a new episode of The Flash. In Canada, iZombie debuts March 18, 2015 on shomi.
