Live-Tweet | Toronto Screenwriting Conference 2015, Day One

These live-tweet sessions are not meant to be a substitute for the Toronto Screenwriting Conference. As with Gloryosky’s live-tweets of television shows, it’s impossible to summarize ninety-minute talks and workshops in batches of 140 characters each. The TSC information is largely of interest to working and aspiring screenwriters, just as upfront season is geared towards advertisers and selected media.

For instance, the 19-2 writers’ room intensive doesn’t translate to live coverage like David S. Goyer’s session does. The intensive focuses on a hypothetical third-season episode. Those who don’t watch 19-2 walk into the session blind. Those who do watch 19-2 understand that an officially-announced renewal, or a cancellation, hasn’t publicly happened. The main objective of the 19-2 writers’ room intensive is to detail how an episode is hashed out, and how the show’s serialized nature differs from other police procedurals. The writers’ room intensive is a new feature at the Toronto Screenwriting Conference, one that should become yearly.

Live-tweet sessions:

Bruce M. Smith (19-2) and Tom Hastings (Bell Media) (Writers’ Room Intensive)
Carole Kirschner
Mara Brock Akil (Girlfriends, The Game, Being Mary Jane)
David S. Goyer (Blade, Batman Begins, Man of Steel)
