Article | Gloryosky at the 2015 Toronto Screenwriting Conference

Gloryosky will attend the 2015 Toronto Screenwriting Conference from April 11-12, 2015. Gloryosky is technically not there as media, as I won a contest from LA Screenwriter. I apologize for not thanking the site until now, nor is Gloryosky affiliated with LA Screenwriter. The site is a useful resource for aspiring screenwriters.

Online registration closed Thursday, April 9, 2015. If you’re interested in the conference and live in/near Toronto, you can still register outside Ada Slaight Hall at the Daniels Spectrum; registration is CAD$419 for the two-day conference. Door registration is available for the conference on April 11, 2015, from 8:15 AM ET to 4:00 PM ET.

The full schedule is here, leading off with Toronto Screenwriting Conference founder/Meridian Artists president Glenn Cockburn. Following Cockburn is David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman Begins, Constantine, Syfy’s upcoming Krypton series). Speakers of note include Goyer, Salim & Mara Brock Akil (Being Mary Jane, The Game, Girlfriends), Eugene and Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek), and Eric Homan (VP of Development for Frederator Studios), among others.

On April 11, 2015, 19-2 (Bravo) executive producer Bruce M. Smith hosts a writers’ room intensive with Bell Media’s director of independent production, Tom Hastings. Six writers developed the basic elements for a 19-2 tentpole episode on Friday, April 10, 2015. It will be interesting to see how the writers’ room intensive turns out, as 19-2 is arguably the best procedural Canadian television has at the moment. This is a new feature for the Toronto Screenwriting Conference, and Gloryosky will try to cover that in some fashion.

Visit Gloryosky’s Storify, Tumblr, and Twitter for further news items, both related to TSC 2015 and not.
