TV News | [adult swim] Canada January 2016 highlights; Knuckleheads debuts

Corus Entertainment’s [adult swim] Canada highlights for January 2016 came out December 23, 2015. Rick and Morty is the obvious highlight, yet there are other premieres of note, including a Canadian premiere:

Knuckleheads: Friday, January 8, 10:00 PM ET/PT (first season in English-language Canada)
Rick and Morty: Sunday, January 10, 11:30 PM ET/PT (first and second seasons; previously mentioned)
Robot Chicken DC Comics Special: Sunday, January 10, 10:30 PM ET/PT
Robot Chicken: Sunday, January 10, 11:00 PM ET/PT (seventh season)
The Awesomes: Friday, January 8, 9:00 PM ET/PT (third season)

Fugget About It airs new episodes in its Friday 9:30 PM ET/PT timeslot, while Night Sweats airs new episodes in its Friday 11:30 PM ET/PT timeslot.

Knuckleheads is the English-language version of Têtes à claques. The Têtes à claques web site launched in 2006, with an English-language launch on August 14, 2008. Les Grandes Gueules s’animent! aired on [adult swim] Canada as Two Nuts and a Richard starting October 16, 2015, so this is the second show of Québécois origin to air on [adult swim] Canada during the 2015-16 season.

Gloryosky is surprised to see a specialty channel translate French-language shows for English-language audiences. Whether Knuckleheads catches on or not, to see four adult-oriented shows on a Teletoon-administered channel – in first run during one season – is a step up from Teletoon at Night debuting one or two new shows a year. Gloryosky hopes this trend continues.

The below video went live on December 15, 2015. This is likely old news for the Têtes à claques faithful. It might have made more sense to launch Knuckleheads when Têtes à claques was hot around 2007-08, but at least it’s out now.
